SnugScience

About Us

Evidence over noise.

Snug Science is a library of 3,709 articles on the science and psychology of small everyday comforts — researched with the help of AI, then read and edited by a human who cares about getting it right.

Our mission

So much of what's written about wellbeing online is fragmented, contradictory, and driven by what sells rather than what's true. We started Snug Science to do the opposite: long-form, evidence-based explanations of the small things that quietly make life better — a favorite mug, a freshly sharpened pencil, the comfort of rain on the window — and the psychology and biology underneath them.

Every article aims to bridge the gap between real research and the everyday experience of feeling good, for people who like to know why.

Editorial principles

  • 01

    Evidence first

Claims that rely on biology or clinical findings should be traceable to published research. We avoid recommendations the literature doesn't support.

  • 02

Honest about how this is made

Articles are researched and drafted with AI tools, then reviewed and edited by a human. The author is a writer and generalist, not a doctor — so nothing here is presented as medical advice or expert clinical opinion.

  • 03

    Clarity over hype

We write explanations, not advertisements. No miracle cures, no clickbait headlines, no affiliate-driven claims. If the science is uncertain, we say so.

  • 04

    Updated as the science moves

Articles display both their original publish date and the date of their last revision. Older pieces are revisited when meaningful new evidence emerges.

Medical disclaimer

Snug Science is an educational resource, not a substitute for medical advice. Articles are researched with AI assistance and edited by a non-medical writer. They describe what current evidence suggests about biology, nutrition, and behaviour — they are not diagnoses, treatment plans, or expert clinical opinion, and may contain errors. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before making changes to your medication, supplementation, or treatment of any health condition. In an emergency, contact your local emergency services.
